Amelanchier spicata, also known as the Thicket Shadbush or Low Juneberry, is a hybrid of Amelanchier alnifolia (native to the northwest US) and Amelanchier humilis (native to the northeast US). It grows as a shrub, up to 10 feet tall, with clusters of white flowers and sweet edible berries enjoyed by birds and humans alike. The foliage turns bright red and orange in Fall. Slightly acidic to neutral soil is preferred.
