Silky dogwood (Cornus amomum) is a multi-stemmed, thicket-forming shrub often found in wetland areas. It produces clusters of interesting blue fruits eaten by birds and small mammals. The thickets are also used as nesting habitat. Silky dogwood has a slight preference for acidic soil, but is very adaptable to different soil types as long as it has sufficient moisture.
